Why do voters buy in to Beto and Warren race card

So begs the question, why do democrats buy into a white Irish guys ploy that he's Hispanic?

Elizabeth Warren is 1/64th or less native American yet she refuses to give up this ploy. And its accepted by the left and Democrats and the media. They are not demanding that either one of them give it up.

So the real question is why are they doing it, why are they not embarrassed for masquerading as something they are not and why isn't the media and their party and voters demanding they give up the charade.

Also, Cortez wants us to believe she grew up poor. But she didn't, she grew up rich.

Don't know why people do this. Although I suspect it might be because people who grew up relatively wealthy yet promote working class causes are often criticised as disingenuous and called "champagne socialists". The same way celebrities who genuinely did grow up poor but have acquired wealth through their lucrative careers are criticised.

That being said, blatantly lying about yourself doesn't seem to be a barrier to political success nowadays.
