Why do you think he is the “front man”? Did he approach the NA guy proactively? Was this a choice he made or did it default to him due to his location? And what is he a “front” for exactly?

Let me put it this way. I was raised to respect my elders. If u replaced those kids with my brothers and i and when we were thay age and my parents were there and that old man with his drum came slowly up to us, they would have told us to get out of his way. If we didnt we, would have gotten a slap upside the head. If we proceeded to not move but surround him when he tried to pass thru in an obvious mob/intimidation tactic, then stare the old man down, we would have gotten our asses whooped by our pops right then and there and rightfully so.
If it wasnt our parents but basicaly any coach or teacher ive ever had it would have gone basically the same as with my parents minus the immediate whoopin but to be followed by a whoopin when word got home.
But in reality none of that would have happened because even though i was/am, and my brothers were/are ass holes, even at 15 we werent big enough of ones to not move out of the way of and be respectful to an elderly man, even if he had possibly been a little obnoxious with his drumming.

Oh yeah, it's no wonder he didn't go to the black Israelites and pound a drum inches from their face chanting, they already said in a video clip they were looking for someone to get in their space and throw some pain.
It's always a shame when you have to resort to victim blaming though, you know the people that were standing there when someone else got in their space yelling and beating drums.
One person/group caused this turmoil (native american musicians,) the other group was waiting for a bus being heckled by black Israelites.

No one was to even say the kids didn't create a nuisance after the turmoil started but they didn't create the conflict, it was brought literally, directly in their faces and lied about in mass media.

One big flaw in your argument is that the native American elder wasn't trying to get past them, even he admitted that he was confronting them. Nor did they surround him, he walked into the middle of their group.
