Lol another smackdown from JP:
Jordan Peterson can't fix climate change
She tried to get him and failed. Good stuff.

I'm with MythLord. There was no smackdown and the YouTube dude got unnecessarily angry.
JP did correctly state that he's a Psychologist addressing psychological issues, however. Also, he correctly pointed out that individual responsibility starts before you can try to collect human collective issues like the consequences of climate change.
The smackdown was less in the answer to the question and more in the "that's just a thinly veiled insult, why don't you rephrase it so there's an actual question" that was very satisfying.
I know a lot of people with a serious hate boner for the guy, including some people I'm friends with, so it's very satisfying to see moments like that where Peterson calls someone on either thinly veiled insults or gotcha shit to the response of applause.
I remember one of such moments, when a vice interview was heavily edited to misrepresent what Jordan Peterson was saying and make him look bad, a couple of my friends and a few people who weren't my friends were practically cumming at the opportunity to pounce on it.
I argued what I thought was actually the point he was making, they accused me of pulling shit out of my ass, and one or two people I'm friends with even got mad at me for defending him... and low and behold the unedited interview got released and his point was exactly what I thought it to be.
Why is DMB so selective with which parts of Prterson’s Comments he comments on?

LMAAAO.DMB, I know you hate that the dude you worship is being criticized, but can we stick to what I've said he's said before you accuse me of strawmanning?
This is what Peterson has actually said:
https://youtu.be/FmH7JUeVQb8?t=3355Peterson argues that people can't form their own moral systems because rule based systems have failed.
Peterson is wrong off course because of https://youtu.be/FmH7JUeVQb8?t=3576
they ahven't failed. The introduction of AI has allowed them to succeedPeterson tries to cite technology as proof that people can't extrapolate morality from their own, non-religious, rule system and then gets promptly refuted by someone who actually is informed about what he's talking about.
But you don't have to be an expert to reveal Peterson's unwillingness to critically think about what he says:
https://youtu.be/FmH7JUeVQb8?t=5850
Questioner: you say evolution underpins religion which underpins morality. Can't it just be that evolution underpins morality? Why the extra step? Animals have shown morality
Peterson: It's not that simple. The final, and my favorite example of Peterson's dumbassery:
https://youtu.be/FmH7JUeVQb8?t=5306Peterson cites a book where an athiest protected himself and his family by killing someone as proof that atheism is dangerous because it allows you to kill.
Peterson has said dumbshit dmb. You don't like him being called out for saying dumbshit, so you resorted to being dumb:
\
No one said that but you. This is called a strawman. What I said is he's advocating for a supernatural dictator. That you think dictators stop being bad when they become imaginary is a testament to how stupid listening to Peterson makes you.
Originally posted by EmperordmbI've definitely seen him treated unfairly in some interviews. What did you think of the GQ interview? I thought that one was a poor show on his part.

It’s one thing if dmb just avoided discussion on Peterson, but he’s choosing to partake and throw shade at people based on their criticisms of something wholly separate from the examples brought up.
If DMB doesn’t want to be bright into shit, he shouldn’t bring himself in.

Agreed. Putting people on ignore because you can't resist getting triggered by their trolling is indicative of your mental weakness.
But if you readily acknowledge that weakness and understand you have a problem with taking things too far...it's a healthy choice and nothing against you for creating a safe space by blocking trolls that trigger you.
