Jones in Contempt, Fined $50K/Day

InfoWars conspiracy theorist Alex Jones is facing a warrant for his arrest, after defying a court order Thursday ordering him to sit for a deposition. After Jones skipped the first scheduled deposition on Wednesday, lawyers for the plaintiffs asked Connecticut Judge Barbara N. Bellis to issue a warrant for his arrest to force him to participate in the deposition.
In response, Bellis ordered Jones to appear Thursday at the deposition or face potential court action. Now that Jones has skipped that second deposition, the judge is expected to take action against him as soon as later on Thursday.
A Superior Court judge on Wednesday found conspiracy theorist and Infowars host Alex Jones in contempt of court and imposed a fine of up to $50,000 a day for what she called his "willful" violation of her orders that he submit to questioning at a deposition by families of victims of the Sandy Hook School killings.
After a series of delays, Jones failed to comply last week with repeated orders by Bellis that he appear for a deposition on March 23 and 24 in Austin, Texas where his Internet broadcasting company is located.
At the conclusion of a brief hearing in Waterbury, Bellis said Jones can have her contempt order purged if he sits for two days of deposition in Connecticut. If he fails to appear, she said she is ready to impose a variety of additional sanctions.

Going to be lame if she waives the fines he's incurred thus far. Jones should have to pay the 50K a day until he appears, then it stops once he sits for his deposition.
