Very curious.
To be honest,. i've seen worse, and find his initial claims credible. I doubt he lied, then got a sudden case of conscience. More likely he recanted for other reasons, whether its to protect jobs, or avoid hassles that he wasn't expecting.
Just a few things I read this morning:
Pompeo makes baseless claims about smooth transition to second Trump administration
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2020/nov/10/mike-pompeo-second-trump-administration-trump-biden
Biden Transition Seeks Donations as Trump Administration Withholds Funds

White House tells federal agencies to proceed with plans for Trump's February budget in latest sign of election defiance
https://www.washingtonpost.com/us-policy/2020/11/10/trump-federal-budget-post-election/
How long does the Trump admin plan to keep this up? They are taking #NotMyPresident to new and ridiculous heights.

More likely he lied, then realized he couldn't prove his lie (like every poster here claiming fraud from in front of their computers)

But why would he lie? He has no real motive to do so.
I worked in the USPS for a time. Saw everything from medicines being left lying under desks for months past delivery date, to outright mail tampering (I was actually the one who, rather sloppily, tried to repackage a porno video cassette a friend of mine ordered when some of the guys ripped it open. My friend was justifiably furious and threatened to file a complaint, but never did.)

No more than he has no motive to recant a true story. You guessed at a few reasons, and my guessed for his reason to lie would just be guesses too.
The only fact coming out of this is, there is no longer a complaint from a postal worker.

FYI a Republican governor is now offering a $1 million dollar reward for proof of voter fraud, so add that to your list of reasons.

What knobs
This goes beyond simple knobbery. He's not just acting like a child who can't accept he lost, he's acting like a wannabe dictator again.
The Pompeo clip was hilarious though, he could barely keep a straight face when he said the Trump admin is proceeding as normal to a second term.

Why would they need to offer a million dollars to provide proof they say they already have?
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
