2020 Presidential Election Discussion

Wow, it's like we totally forgot about this other president that literally attacked the press with his executive powers instead of mouthing off to them on twitter:

https://www.factcheck.org/2018/09/obama-fox-news-and-the-free-press/

The Post report on the Justice Department’s investigation involving Rosen came not long after the Justice Department seized two months of telephone records of reporters and editors at the Associated Press. Gary Pruitt, the AP’s chief executive officer, called the action “unconstitutional.”

https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2014/jan/10/jake-tapper/cnns-tapper-obama-has-used-espionage-act-more-all-/

[QUOTE]Including Ellsberg, the government has used the Espionage Act 10 times to prosecute government workers who shared classified information with journalists. If we push back to 1945, there is one more case. So of those 11, seven have taken place while Barack Obama has been president.[QUOTE]

So weird, so fascisty....kinda like using drones to kill US citizens without due process and at least for this one apparently Trump gets to carry some shame.

I think some words are over used and hyped to help bend the minds of those not willing to really research our politics and political leaders.

I didn't say there weren't checks & balances to prevent authoritarian power. But as we all witnessed, Trump ignored those checks on his power.

I also didn't say the mainstream media is perfect. The DNC and MSM are currently trying to discredit the powerful people's movement in Bernie Sanders and it's disgusting.

But blanket statements like, "The press is the enemy of the people" is how you get fascism. It means, don't trust anything you hear, only trust me, the autocrat, "the party."

And for f#cks sakes, please realize the irony in criticizing CNN's coverage of Trump yet defending Trump who gets all his "news" from Fox News.

Fascism Expert: Trump Has Laid the Groundwork for “Full-On Authoritarian Rule”

You need to put up or Shut up.

Now name one policy that Trump has enacted against the people, the press, and the country that makes Trump a fascist?

Yes. If dems are going to make the argument that the electoral college needs to be abolished at a national level, then they need to stop using what is essentially the electoral college at the state level. It's a very bad look.

Apparently DNC f#ckheads met to change the rules for how delegates are distributed to help Pete. So yeah, he finished in second place but still got more delegates?

Yup, they were willing to sabotage their own caucus to slow Bernie's momentum. And the media just spreads it as some innocent "goof." Because tallying votes is just so complicated. And the app that ****ed everything up was paid for by Pete. And it's funny that all this fishy tampering and meddling happens only when Bernie is around. They hurt his momentum and he STILL won New Hampshire. Oh yes, this is just the beginning. They want us to give up, but we have to be more resolute. Make this shit go viral.

The DNC wanted to eliminate caucuses. The Sanders campaign fought to keep them, because he over-performs in them. Until he did not. And now he is crying about it.

^ That's funny.

Lol, calm down. Why so defensive? In love with your dear leader perhaps?

My claim is not that he's enacting tons of policies that a fascist would do. Obviously authoritarian regimes don't materialize overnight and with our system you can't make it happen overnight. Which is good. Hense why the article title I posted is, "Trump Has Laid the Groundwork for 'Full-On Authoritarian Rule.'" But scapegoating outsiders with his famous wall is definitely a big one. See below for more info (or plug your fingers in your ears and ignore it, IDGAF).

But the fact that he is a wannabe autocrat is simply undeniable unless you're delusional.

Trump voters are the most uninformed voters in US history, or at least modern history. This is largely due to Trump's and his surrogates relentless barrage of lies and a desperate need to only seek information that they agree with, ie confirmation bias.

The fact that you can't believe the truth says more about your bias than you probably intend.

Oh, so now you are suddenly a liberal again, huh? 😂

I remember you admitting a while back that you weren't a liberal but a leftist. Nah, you aren't a liberal... you're a communist p-o-s. You are on record praising the shitty Karl Marx and the Communist manifesto.

I know you want to play a word game on it but that's not really true.

I posted on this before: you're wrong.

According to actual research on this topic, it's not Trump voters but Hillary voters that are the dumbest.

Hillary Clinton supporters are dumber than Trump supporters by a significant margin:

On the verbal ability test (WORDSUM), not surprisingly the median number of vocabulary questions correct was the same for both Clinton and Trump supporters: 6 out of 10 words correct. The mean verbal ability score for Trump supporters was 6.15 words correct, while the mean verbal ability score for Clinton supporters was 5.69 correct, a difference of nearly a half a question on a 10-question test. This moderate difference is statistically significant at p<.0005.

Further, Trump supporters score significantly higher on verbal ability (6.15 correct) than the rest of the public combined (5.70 correct), whereas Clinton supporters score significantly lower on verbal ability (5.69 correct) than the rest of the public combined (5.98 correct).

...

less than half of 2016 Clinton supporters (49.6%) are able to answer correctly both of two related questions: whether the earth goes around the sun or the sun goes around the earth (EARTHSUN) and whether that takes a day, a month, or a year (SOLARREV). Remember these two questions are multiple choice! You would have a 50-50 chance of guessing correctly on the first part: whether the earth goes around the sun or vice versa. Sadly, the general public didn't do hugely better than Clinton supporters, with only 57.1% (compared to 49.6%) knowing that the earth goes around the sun and that it takes a year to do so.

Now we will get to see what the research says about this for 2020 because we have a new election cycle.

Uninformed does not mean dumb and more cherry-picked data from a rightist webstite.

The very site u have used before gives it a "high" factual reporting rating.

Do you really think that the majority of Clinton voters do not know that the earth goes around the sun?

If you really do, I have a bridge to sell you my confirmation biased buddy.
