produced by James Wan, Not too sure about the director since it'll be his first film

Filming will take place at Adelaide Studios in Australia

Well, if James Wan is involved, it will probably be a fun ride.

As long as they make it R rated.

The first movie was successful despite not being so and is still loved by the series creators to this day, referencing it in the latest games (Shang Tsung with MK11, etc), though yeah, an MK movie now would really need that R rating for a film to still resonate with fans today.

Being an avid MK fan, I must say that this movie looks campy in all the right places. I could be wrong, but this looks promising, esp since Wan is involved.

Never a good sign when Hollywood films in Aust.

They're given various tax exemptions for filming here (in exchange for providing work for local production companies) but can also mean Wan's on a tight budget to begin with.
