No reason at all. If you're one of the two people on KMC who's never heard of the Drinker.

But see, that's a different argument then what he was saying.

I can totally respect someone who's upfront about dismissing Youtube celebrities in general. The way he was talking gave the impression he does watch a few.

"And this Youtuber should be taken seriously because..?"

Do tell Bruce, which ones do you take seriously?

Why didn't data try to get a new android body for himself tho? It made no real sense.

It felt like he didn't go through with it just cuz...reasons? I dunno.

actually it made perfect sense... in that moment data knew it was his time to go. he wanted to die

But why? These new sets of androids can feel emotion. I realize right before his "death" in a movie he got emotions, but the difference here is the bodies can also be made "mortal".

It is everything Data would have wanted. He can feel emotion and he also doesn't have to sit and watch everyone he cares about die for however long his lifespan would have been in his original body(probably would have lasted indefinitely if he kept up routine maintenance).

Data knew it was his time to die.. Also Brent Spiner has gotten old to portray him so he really can't do it anymore

But this doesn't actually make any sense. It's just vague enough to get most people not to question it. Why was when he was so close to getting his greatest wish was it time to die?

They could have had him get his android body and then sacrifice himself for Picard and his "daughters" or something. They didn't need to keep him around. He more or less committed suicide. Or I guess he was willingly euthanized. If he could have deleted himself on his own he would have. Data dying to save others I get. Data going "meh, f*ck it time to die" I don't.

Honestly "The Orville" feels like it's the only show right now that comes close to capturing the feel of classic Trek.

Not sure what that says about Discovery and Picard.

Actually makes perfect sense given that people KNOW when it is their time to die

just simply become a screenwriter and make a fan film how you want because that way you can be satisfied with how you WANT it to happen

lol grow up and come into the 21st century.... Things change and so did Picard

Old people close to death know when their time is coming. Or maybe someone with a terminal illness.

Data wasn't near death lol. I'm not sure why he was suicidal, besides reasons.

he was near death first in star trek nemesis when he gave his life so picard could live or have forgotten that lolololololol

second he wanted to die in star trek picard , are you dumb or dense or both

To be honest, age and even death is no excuse post Gran Moff Tarkin.

Not sure why you're attacking me for pointing out Data literally gave up his main goal for...reasons?

In the past stuff was out of control, but here they could have saved him. Instead he was like "euthanize me".

im not attacking yu coz ya know reasons.. did you even bother watching the
next generation tv show or movies, because if you did you'd know all about data's character and story arcs

...what? I have indeed watched TNG. It's why I know his greatest desire was to become human...or as close to it as he could get.

So it's weird he's like "gotta die now tho" when given the chance.

No, he's right. DS9 changed with the times, but it still felt like Trek.

Best comparison I can come up with is Michael Bay's take on Transformers. Just switch out explosions for the sake of explosions, with drama and grim n' gritty because bad directors think its cool.

Current Trek is the equivalent of 1990's dark and grim comic books. A world where Picards optimism looks downright goofy, like when Seven tried to spare his feelings on just how shit the universe had become.
