Not sure what you're saying but I don't want this to veer off topic any further. DDM insulted evangelicals by claiming they are ruining the bible. I felt compelled to call him out on his misconception about the verse he was quoting. Doing works is not a salvation issue, which is what I think you are saying so I guess we agree on that.
A born again Christian is moved to works because he/she is truly saved (and you are saved by putting your faith in what Christ did and believing He rose from the dead and will return in the future, not anything you do yourself) and wants to follow in Christ's footsteps as best as he/she can, not because it'll get him/her into Heaven. They engage in good works because they know it is the right thing to do. All the glory belongs to Christ and Christ alone though. Not the pope, not Mary (who was not a perpetual virgin, btw, as catholics believe), not the angels, and not any of the saints.
