One does not need to be tough in order to pull the trigger on a gun. Yes I'd rather give myself a chance if shots ring out. There is every chance the first shot hits me and I have no time to use a weapon, but then again maybe it won't and I will have time to get a shot off.

Protip: If gang violence breaks out around you and you fear a stray bullet will hit you, joining in on gun fire will only increase the chances of you being killed. What you want to do is run away from the gangbangers shooting each other.
