2nd Civil War-- who would win?

Rightwing loons love talking about another Civil War, the fantasy of shooting at other Americans; I saw this talk really take off in 2008/9 after Obama won.

But if this fantasy match-up is between the "left/the establishment/government vs the patriotic constitution-defending right", then the government wins. I know Righties love to pretend they're playing Call of Duty with their guns, but an AR-15 is no match for a drone.

Dems would annihilate the repubs.

You can say goodbye to you 80 genders, pride parades, abortions, etc. You'll go back in time dozens or even hundreds of years in the social progress we've made.

Yeah, you're right DDM. Classically US politics has always been one drink from a goose step. Glad the 60's happened our every town would be like Footloose.
First, sorry for replying to posts from June. I just saw this thread. So it's not a troll.

DDM, if the right won, you probably would see 80 genders diminish. Because it's a made up notion that has nothing to do with a person's biology, just what they perceive as their identity. If I really started believing I was a velociraptor, I'd expect to be called out, set straight, or given mental health therapy. I bet you could still use whatever "gender" you'd like on FB, for example. But this nonsense of berth certificates not noting a baby's sex would likely be gone, and that males can have periods or get pregnant would be gone. Gay pride parades are guaranteed by the First Amendment/Bill of Rights of the US Constitution. And any sincere person on the right would not ban any pride parades, or any speech. I can't speak for everybody, but in my world of friends and acquaintances, just about everyone would not 100% ban abortion. They would prefer it be a last resort and not used as birth control. I couldn't in good conscience ban abortion for rape or incest, and most certainly not if a pregnancy would kill the mother.

Whirly, we'd be lucky if every town was like Footloose! sneer

Seriously though, I was raised Catholic, went to Catholic schools, and never once were gays called sinners by any priest, nun or teacher. We had sex ed starting in 7th grade. My priest told me in Confession that pre-martial sex was not needed to be confessed if it was part of a relationship. We were never instructed to call out people who were gay or promiscuous. We weren't told that Ozzie or Judas Priest was Devil music. We were taught tolerance and forgiveness, along with the Word. I mean, I grew up in the 80s and there were a lot of gays out in the open on TV, the radio and movies.

Anyway, sorry for the long post. I just think these caricatures of the left and right that get promoted and passed off as truth need to be addressed then shunned by reasonable people.

Beautiful post, Bada. 👆

I would also never want to force a woman to go thru with her pregnancy either if her life was truly at risk or her health would truly be in danger from giving birth. The problem is that I believe many women would abuse that rule and claim, for example, that their health would be at risk for nonsense reasons like the child would be a "hardship" and/or "economic burden" and "cause her great emotional stress" because of it. Perhaps she would just claim that she isn't ready to raise a child or doesn't know how to and so therefore makes the argument it would cause her great mental anguish or something similar.

I also think exceptions should probably be made for rape and incest although I'm flexible on that. And yeah, I'd never be in favor of stopping any gay pride parades either though I don't really think bringing children to the parades is appropriate. I do have a problem with that. I've said it before, as long as homosexuals don't make any moves on me I don't care what they do or how they live their lives.

God will be the One to judge, not me.

Sounds like your Priest was a good guy. Not all are like him.
