thanks matt

Still not sure how I feel about ANY changes to the original comic here, but I will STILL watch.

Looks great.

LotR, HoD, and Sandman. A lot of fantasy series coming out in the next two months. Hopefully at least one of them is good...

That preview didn't do much for me. Still giving it a shot though.

They’re showing snippets of episodes now, and we get to see a close up of Despair for the first time.

Guy read more Sandman comics than I but I'll give this a watch

Tonight... we will know!

Episode 1 of the Sandman was pretty solid and very faithful to the source material. I think this may be the first good adaptation of a Vertigo title.

8.5

I'm two episodes in. So far, pretty damn good and faithful to the broader strokes of the comic. I'm enjoying it. Disappointed in no classic Constantine though.

Starting ep 1. Now.

i'm 9 episodes deep so far.

they're really all-in with establishing the overall homosexual, transgender, minority, and matriarchy aspects of this series, as most of the key players have been "retconned" (or added) into one of the above...... which is fine, but it just doesnt mesh with the source material at all. so based on that alone, i expect the show to get rave reviews.

that being said; it has been pretty good so far. the guy who plays dream is perfect for the role.

I’m pretty sure John Constantine is DC property and owned by other peers that be and maybe wasn’t allowed for the show. Also, Gaiman specifically stated that the mainstream DC characters from the books would be omitted.

The Sandman is shaping up to be a proper good adaptation that I’m thoroughly enjoying.

My one major gripe, however, is Patton ****ing Oswalt as the voice of Matthew the raven. What a ****ing travesty of a choice.

In all my years of reading the Sandman and Swamp Thing, I never once heard in my head the voice of special government intelligence agent Matthew Cable as a short, squishy, painfully unfunny try-hard comedian who looks like a lawn gnome with Down syndrome.

The source material was full of homosexuality and transgenderism.

Had nothing going on today, so I binged the entire series.

It was pretty damn good up to episode 6(and I really enjoyed ep.6), but took a sharp decline after that, imo... I wasn't a fan of the "Vortex" plot at all.

I also enjoyed the episode where Dream goes to Hell in search of his helm, as a bunch of that dialogue came directly from the comics.

...But yeah, after ep.6 I just kind of checked out.

Episode six was magnificent. I’m pleasantly surprised at how well it was done.

I’m gonna start the last four episodes tomorrow.

I've only watched two eps so far, Never read the comic and i'm enjoying it.

Darn, I hadn't heard that. TBH, that's fine. The other DC characters were never the point of the comic, which is something I always appreciated. I've just always been starved for good Constantine. He was trash in the movie, and the offshoot of him in Doom Patrol also missed the mark. Matt Ryan was fantastic (if kind of wasted) but with arrow gone and The Flash ending, his take is coming to an end too probably. I just want a good take on Constantine. Whatever though.

I like this guys Dream, but his voice feels off. Too booming. I always imagined Dream speaking in softer tones. I also wish they gave him paler skin. He looks pretty pink in some scenes, like a normal human. Corinthian is great so far though, so I'm excited to see more of him.

I know it's to be expected since they have limited time, but I'm disappointed none of the one off stories are being adapted. Just the main story. The one offs are some of the best in the comic IMO.

Also, not a fan of Oswalt. Never have been.
