I'm just gonna say it:
Black Tarantula is as underrated as Gorgon is overrated.
Gorgon made his rep beating, who? Wolverine? Who HASN'T stomped Wolverine? Beating Logan up is like a right of passage.
Elektra is a bit better, but she's no Shang Chi.
And Shang Chi managed to knock Gorgon down to one knee. He lost, horribly, but the important thing is he HURT him.
While Spider-Man, who is literally strong enough to tear Shang in half if he wasn't such a drama queen about little things like crippling people for life (Like Sin Eater). Yes, Shang "held his own" with Spidey, but we all know Peter rarely uses his full strength. Any time he does, is the exception.
Black Tarantula was an exception. He threw everything he had at BT, and didn't even slow him down. We have no reason to doubt he gave his all, because he literally punched himself out, making him easy pickings.
And in terms of speed? He grabbed Peters ankle out of mid air, and slammed him repeatedly into a brick wall. Catching someone like Spider-Man, in mid air, with his agility and precog, is a TREMENDOUS speed feat. It beats dodging bullets by a mile, because Spidey treats walls of bullets like slow moving elderly people on crutch's.
"B-but, everyone hits peter! PIS."
Yeah, hits him. Never catch's him out of mid air while he's doing the spidey dance of death (Or "Max Spider, as Marvel vs Capcom calls it). Catching him by the ankle is a might different then Hulk landing a glancing blow, or some kung fu girl catching him flat footed. I don't believe that's EVER happened.
Strong enough to one shot Spidey, tanky enough to take punch's that put down mid end/upper bricks, fast enough to treat his best speed blitz like a slow walk.
No way Carter survive this without getting his wings ripped off.
The bottom line: SUPERMAN WINS, WITH EASE.
I have no doubt that BT is a beast. I did see him get gutted by White Tiger and thrown in a dumpster, though. Lol
But HM is also underrated in his own right. He's more durable, has long range weapons, healing, versatile armor, which can create numerous weapons on the spot, centuries worth of fighting experience, superior senses (pre-flashpoint HM did sense a speedster), and has mobility and reach.
I'd say BT is stronger and faster reaction time, though. But HM has more advantages, imo.
Cage, BT was following Master Izo's plan. Who knows if he was even "killed", or simply acting, given the goal was to be taken into the Hand, and allow his healing factor to undo the brain washing.
He's casually ignored being riddled with bullets through the chest, while weakened, and only complained if he was at full strength, he could dodge the bullets. He then walked off being engulfed in flames, from an exploding building. A sword wound should be nothing to him.
