Both have a responsibility to improving Baltimore as a city but Trump's is a bit more direct than Bernie's because Bernie represents a particular state but Bernie can influence policy across the US with legislation that can help Baltimore (and Trump can approve or veto said legislation). I volunteer and participate in a program that helps young black men and young Latinos (but it is mostly young black men who are in the program) stop the violence and crime cycle that destroys their families and lives. I can emphatically state that Baltimore is a shithole, crime-ridden, violent, and in dire need of improvement. This has nothing to do with racism and only to do with the fact that Baltimore is a shithole.
I'll take you down a couple of issues that demonstrates why ignoring these facts is actually racist:
Uncomfortable Fact 1:
Black women have far more STDs than other women from any other races, in the US. 3x to 8x more likely, depending on the STD. A fact that Democrats and retarded Progressives get very upset about if you mention it. It would cause overwhelming screeching and spasms at Berkeley if you mentioned it. But what is ACTUALLY racist is all the triggering, screeching, and yelling about this fact being racist or that you'r racist if you mention it. Why? Because it prevents young (and old alike) black women from getting educated, getting support around this issue, and learning safer habits. Black Lives Matter, TOO. Sweeping these kinds of facts under the rug because it is racist to talk about them is racist! This needs to stop. Shouldn't Democrats be targeting young black women with programs that provide free contraceptives and teaching tools to prevent the overwhelmingly prevalent STDs among black women?

Black men are the majority of intentional homicide perpetrators and a very large plurality of intentional homicide victims (by far). Young black men are both victimized and aggressors far more often than any other race demographic. This fact, if repeated, sends progressives and Democrats into fits. Even those more self-aware will state it is a product of poverty while ignoring that poor Asians and poor Latinos with less money and less education are far less likely to perpetuate homicide at anywhere near the rates of black men. Pretending this fact is racist is actually racist. Want to talk about mass shootings? Look at all the dead young black men scattered all over our city morgues. Tackle the issue of violence in the black male community. Black Lives Matter, Too! This is probably the second or third biggest issue America faces and it is screamed down by progressives. It should be covered on the news around the clock until young black men reach near parity with other racial demographics. This is a tragedy of epic proportions. Hey, if Democrats and/or Progressives actually cared about Black Lives, they'd stop with all this other crap and start targeting programs that ends the genocide (abortions and homicides) of Black Americans.
