Why wouldn't you have multiple bank/credit union accounts?
I have multiple bank accounts. Savings, checking, 401 and CD.
My wife has similar with another bank, but we both have own names attached to each others. So I do have multiple accounts across multiple banks.
I don't think this is something that is strange or uncommon.

Put your money in some money market accounts at the very least. Who the hell keeps more than a few grand in a savings account?
Who would use money market accounts either....it's just as easy to have an investment account outside of retirement that is liquid.

Yeah I agree, I was saying WHO doesn't/wouldn't have multiple it's very common.
