We agree on a lot of things, but I’ll have to disagree with the wall being useless. Like anything in life, if it’s not man and taking off, of course it’s useless. But prophet care and maintenance, the wall if done properly can be very useful. In war zones we use T-walls and barricades to slow the enemy before they can surround us, it doesn’t stop them 100% depending on the weapons they carrying, but it’s enough to give us a chance to counter attack.
You're not wrong but we are not in a warzone. The walls have proven very ineffective at what they are intending to do.
Unless we can have Robocop-escque drones with auto-response AI constantly patrolling the border, no wall will ever be successful.
To bring us more to the science part of this discussion, walls can work in certain areas. And it can be part of a complicated and diverse strategy to keep people out. However, alone, it is a giant waste of money. We simply do not possess the manpower and infrastructure to employ (no pun intended) all the things we need to have effective border security.
There's also a cost-benefit loss after a certain point. Meaning, keeping out the illegals will cost far more than the economic and criminal detriments that the illegal immigrants will create in the US.
There's a far better strategy to combat the economic drain immigrants have on the US: the Fair Tax Plan. They can try as hard as they want to avoid paying taxes but we'd capture their secret money systems under the fair tax plan and then they'd be far and away a positive economic benefit to the US. Ending my biggest complaints about illegals.
