Never been called emo before, so that’s a new one.

But I guess you’re one of those that just bends over and take what big corporations give you without even a whimper?

Horrendous criticism. Disney has given us great quality even completely selling the world on this Spider-Man. I do not care that much for peter Parker. I can live without him just as the MCU has prior to civil war. A dealis still on the table and only time will tellbut quit worrying about big business you small time chump.

In the short term, definitely Disney needs Fox more. Current MCU has involved Spider Man too much...

Remember how things were tense when Batista said he would resign as Drax?

A simple change of actor for a character can have dire effects in a movie... Now imagine eliminating a character from the picture! He leaving will definitely leave a whole in the MCU trajectory, despite he being abscent from Phase 4.

What's worse, Marvel currently has no way (at least not that I see of) to justify within the movies the abscence of Spiderman. They literaly can't use him at all... They can't mention him nor directly make reference as to why his departure.

So, storytellingwise, Disney has the losing side.

In terms of money, I see Fox having the losing side.

Simply ridiculous.

Spider-Man is Marvel's flagship character,

It'd be like DC without Superman or Nintendo without Mario.

This sucks serious balls.

Hes basically saying thanks for the 5 past years with Marvel. Sounds like he knows Its done.

And if Feige is open to it, it means hes been told its no longer happening.

Its seems like its done for now. But who knows, until Sony start going into production on the next Spidey film, theres still time for a turnaround.

👆

I think Fiege is wearing pockerface, he knows things are bad.

Ten billion seems a little steep, true article or not.

They built the MCU without him. Take your own perceptions out and think of the general audience. Venom worked without Spider-Man they have no preconceived notions. It does suck but the MCU thrived before him. A deal still might be struck.

I agree, but I still want Spidey.

Fingers crossed.

Me too but unlike you I never gave that much of a shit about Spider-Man. He is better as a supporting character in the larger films like ant man to me. Spider-Man fans are way down there on my MCU preferences.

$10B is certainly too much... But in terms of long-run, it's certainly worth it.

No way is Disney going to spend more to get Spider-man then they spent on getting Star Wars and Marvel combined.

Yep.

They never needed Spider-Man, but Marvel and Feige really wanted their flagship character.

But doubt Disney cares much for that kind of sentiment.

Yeah plus they cant afford it after the Fox purchase.

But obviously if Sony was to sell their biggest money maker (its not just Spider-Man anymore, its also Venom), then they would only sell for an offer they couldnt refuse.

But Disney already has the SM merchandising rights so would make zero sense for them to pay more than $1-$3 billion for Spidey movie rights. Especially when they have multiple other Billion dollar franchises they can make sequels to.

Without Spider-Man, the MCU doesn't have any of their great heroes left. They've killed of IM, lost Cap to a parallel universe, and ruined Thor. Who do they have left? Dr Strange and Cap. Marvel? lol

The next phase is gonna suck.

Captain America, Iron Man, and Thor weren't anyting before the MCU made them public figures.
As well as a bunch of other characters like the Guardians that no one would give two shits about.
Spider-Man was basically just a supporting character throughout the MCU movies.
Not having SM in future MCU movies will hurt the MCU a bit but it won't be anywhere near a crippling blow.

Thor is actually way better than he was when he was introduced in the MCU. The character has only become better throughout his movies.

How did they ruin Thor?

feige also knows how to play the media.. in the end a deal will be made between them, the only difference will be when. remember when disney fired gunn, and a year later he returned.

josh no need for disney to pay that type dough even though they could. besides i've read a few things suggesting sony might be sold to apple at some point and all spiderman rights go back to marvel

Sure they were. They were good characters with interesting stories.

You seem to be misunderstanding something. I'm sure the movies will still make money, but since I'm not a Disney exec I don't care about that. What I care about are good movie with characters I enjoy. And, well, pretty much all the character I care about are gone.

I was not at all a fan of what they did to him in Endgame. Ragnarok set up the King Thor storyline, but they threw that away and turned Thor into a punchline.

It wont be a crippling blow to either Spider-Man or the MCU.

I mean as fun and Nerdastic as it was seeing Spidey with the Avengers and being mentored by Tony Stark, I do kind of miss the days when Spidey was all alone.

Wanna bet? Thor still lives. They built the MCU on lesser known heroes. Gotg are huge and still there. BP made over a billion as did CM. Dr. Strange is going to be amazing to boot imo. Your lack of trust in this brand is quite frankly stupid.

Ares logs onto those YouTube sites where people hate on Star Wars and the MCU. That is his silly reality.
