How does Oblivion compare to Skyrim?

So it's true the enemy level-scaling is as bad as I'd heard it was. Might not bother with the game after all. I know many of the enemies in Skyrim scaled with the player as well but after I had gotten really high in level my character was so powerful that pretty much all of them still became a joke. It started to get boring after a while but I still prefer to have the feeling that all that levelling-up was actually making my chartacter increasingly more powerful.

I've still got enough games to keep me entertained until the PS5 comes out which'll hopefully be within the next year or two so I may very well pass on Oblivion.

Dude you should play the game. There are mods for Oblivion that fix the scaling issue. Don't deny yourself the experience.

There is more than one mod so you gotta look into it yourself and decide which scaling mod you'd like.

If you're curious, here is the mod I use for scaling:

I would love to use mods but I don't game on the PC (as I've pointed out in the other thread, I can't DL Steam using my google chrome laptop). I play mostly on PS3 and a few games on XBOX 360 and mods aren't available for those platforms.

If you can't use steam just torrent the game.

If it's a chromebook it might not work on it, tbh.

Update: I probably won't be getting Oblivion because I've recently learned that there are no PS3 trophies for the game. Apparently, Oblibvion came out before the trophy system was implemented on the PS3 and even after making the GotY edition they still didn't go back and retroactively add trophies to it.

I know trophies probably aren't a big deal to most folks but in games that I plan on spending a lot of time in they certainly are to me. I may change my mind eventually but as it stands right now I don't plan on buying the game.

Old oblivion mod should work on anything.

Oblivion was far better. Bethesda kept glitches in the game that helped you feel nearly as powerful as the glitches in Morrowind made you feel... Well at least until I figured out how to make super soldier serums in Skyrim lol.
