Star Wars: Bounty Hunters (comic series)

"While the battle between the Rebellion and the Empire raged in the stars, the darker corners of the Star Wars universe belonged to the bounty hunters, and that's always been a facet of the saga that has fascinated me ever since I first witnessed that glorious murderers' row take a bounty from Darth Vader aboard the Executor in a theater as a seven-year-old in 1980. I'm channeling that wonder from The Empire Strikes Back and beyond in Bounty Hunters, which will be a high-octane action romp through the Star Wars underworld of Hutts and Fetts."

The series follows cyborg bounty hunter Beilert Valance as he seeks revenge on mentor-turned-betrayer Nakano Lash, who has recently resurfaced under mysterious circumstances. But Valance isn't the only mercenary looking for Lash, and he soon finds himself on a collision course with Boba Fett, Bossk, and a slew of new killers.

"We'll get to see this world through the cybernetic eye of Valance, a bounty hunter with a rich history of his own at Marvel, and one of the few that can go toe to toe with the likes of Bossk, and rest assured that he's going to have to be doing a lot of fighting as his jobs take him to some pretty dark places in both the Outer Rim and in his inner heart."

Star Wars: Bounty Hunters #1 arrives March 2020.

This could be great.

And if Cad bane is still alive this would be the prime place to delve into that. 🙂

Wait, is Disney doing something with Boba?

Yep. He's evidently going to be part of a team-up with Valance and Bossk.

I don't know why Disney is afraid to pull the trigger on doing something with Boba Fett whether comics or TV or even movies.

My guess is they wanna focus on new stuff, Boba is part of the old crew after all.

I think you're right and I never started to realize this until recently.

The Star Wars I grew up with is dead.

The ST has copied the OT almost to death.

Youve still got X-Wings and Star Destroyers and Tie Fighters and Stormtroopers. You had a Darth Vader wannabe, and an Emperor wannabe (who theyve now just replaced with the original Emperor).

They gave us a young Solo movie which flopped. There was going to be a Boba Fett film but that wisely got replaced with The Mandalorian (same sort of thing tbh, but its best to create new characters).

So theres been wayyyy too much OT Nostalgia and they need to move on with expanding the Universe.

^About the Mandalorian, anyone knows if it’s going well?

Looks like it will really put some limelight on Boba and the others. Looking forward to this. 👆

From my perception, yeah, everyone's been going crazy about how good it is.

Yeah, I hate the unwillingness to get some new ideas into the picture. It's like they're trying to recapture the magic of the OT, which as any story-teller should know, is impossible. If a work of art comes along that rejects the common tropes of the time and entices you with something different, then it becomes the new common trope. The same aesthetic won't entice you the same way.

If you're gonna make more star wars, expand on what already exists.

Issue #1:

Damn. Bossk owned Black Krrsantan pretty easily.

Wow. didnt realize Bossk was above Wookies.

Bossk>Sidious imo

He generally always has been, least that's being consistent.

Valance vs. Bossk:

Valance > Bossk > Wookies.

Nice.
