Disagree. All Superman's fights involve nothing more than punching. True power-wise but don't act like he's anything more than a brawler.

Forum Superman wouldn't give forum Surfer any chance to do that though.
In top of what's been said, what Doomsurfer did was slow down the Thing's metabolism, the vibration of his molecules. Once the 'metabolism' accelerator from Reed was used on him, he was back to normal.

The effects of slowing down/stopping people in their tracks is similar -- but obviously we don't compare Captain Cold's "speed steal" with Wally's.
This does prove unequivocally that Captain Cold would solo the Thing, though 👆
