I see what you are saying kharma but this thread is for fun I don't think who ever wrote it actly believes that the force is real.Even through the regions that are a part of it is.Like budist is almost like the force in star wars GL even says that he use different kind of relions to make up the force.
Interesting idea hu!JM

Why because the force is around you like nature and I think it is budist who believe in the same thing.Interesting.I also remember Luces saying that he used a mix of religion and did alot of reseach for the movie on what the force is.
Yes I am a die hard fan who would look these things up!JM

You're fooling yourself. The Jedi would never allow you to become a member of their religion. You're an ignorant person. Being a Jedi requires undestanding, acceptance and self control. None of which you have ever exibited. In fact, I seriously doubt that even the dark side would take you.

Besides the facts above, Jedi aren't a real religion. And no one in the world is a bigger fan than I am. But I also realize the difference between reality and a fantasy story. Hence my problems with the bible.

A problem with star wars? No.

A problem with people who seek deeper meaning of their lives by following the teachings of a muppet from a hollywood movie. Most Definitley.

or a problem with people who fail to read through this thread to find out that this is BS? definitly

because you can't do that

Yerssot, no I did not read through the entire thread, oh well, sorry to offend you.

And as for your comment about this thread being BS, I was commenting on the Jedi Religion (and those that practice it) which is now an actual religious movement:

www.jediism.org/

I was just posting in the same way you did, cause it fitted the reply

and one site created by some idiots without a direct place of contact in the RL, doesn't make it real... if it was, everyone could make his own religion

I made my own religion - Baylinism - for people who believe they're dogs! 😉

Egad, we've got to stick these old threads somewhere....like in a locked vault.....

If you think I am the one being ignorant look at yourself.THey will not let them in if there was a religion because of you foolish way in judging people and you are too proud.
So don't talk to me about being ignorant.Anyway yes this thread is just a fun thing so it should be treated like it.For once you can't blame me since I did not make this thread.

LOL I know. It just strikes me as funny when someone quotes 1984 in their signature, wraps it up with "DOWN WITH BIG BROTHER!", and then consistantly argues for taking rights away from other members of society.

Okay, GL did take alot of different religions to come up with the ideas of the Force. So, in a indirect way...It can be possible, but instead of one major "Jedi" religion, you have many all wrapped up into one. Christian and the Eastern Faiths mainly.

I think that is what GL had in mind when making up the force!I like your avator! It is my favorite star wars movie!JM

LOL Thanks 🙂 and Yeah, he did alot of religious research before making Star wars. Think of Shmi having Anakin and having no father....He based that on the Virgin Mary...Imaculate Conception.

I think that "The Force" was just the opposite. I think GL created it to refute most organized religions. He boiled all faiths down to their key elements, added a little magic, and called it the force. So, basically what I'm saying, is that I think the Force is the result of his mistrust of anything established.

As for this point, I think too many people have applied logic in a situation where it need not be applied. So many people say that Lucas said there was no father to illustrate the Jesus parallel. I disagree. I think he did it simply so that there would never be any way for someone to eventually come up with the idea of Anakin's father. Kind of a "this is where the story starts...period" tactic. But, the immaculate conception idea certainly lends itself to his thinking.

CF... those people that go on a tantrum about the Jesus parallel need to get their christian bubble bursted.
Christianity is NOT the only, nor the oldest religion where someone is father-less

Absolutely. Time and again we have to disabuse people of this notion that Anakin is a Jesus parallel.

good grief....people should be disabused of jedi being a religion not arguing about whether Anakin is like Jesus...about the only remotely close parallel would be the conception issue....
