protests are going to grow in coming years, Protests used to mean something, now people sit at home like we are and discuss issues online in an opinionated way, not suffering from hardship and hunger. But as the depression comes and it is coming and it will be deep, people with nothing to lose, as they have in the past will make there voices heard in the real world. The big question is can online gaslighting from people who are fine keep sympathy and support from people in the real world who are suffering on their doorstep? Who am I kidding? Of course it can!
Got out of a briefing, yesterday afternoon, where all the execs basically told us that the US still needs energy and we (our company) will be fine but the world may burn around us as we still continue to work to keep the lights on (literally) in the US.
That's unsettling, at the very least. There was also hints at state-owned-and-operated interference with companies like ours because the US cannot afford to lose energy. Our doggy-daycare centers can get shut down. Our pedicure centers can shutdown. Our gymnastics facilities can shut down. Even our sports arenas can shut down. But the moment you cut off the power to the United States is the moment the government would step in. They'd let their banks fail before they'd let the power disappear.
If it gets worse, you'll see some of the essential companies be "run" by the government. ISPs, energy companies (not the shell energy companies, the ones that actually provide energy), sewage, water treatment, agriculture, and infrastructure: all propped up by the government. You quickly see how useless overdraft fees, CDOs, and Moody's credit ratings become when you need to literally keep the lights on. Banks and Wallstreet? They do not provide fundamental value to human existence when all the systems of industry start to fail.

US was set to pass the 30K deaths mark over the weekend, seems we've already done that a bit ahead of projected schedule. But sure, something something "hoax".
The Mortality Rate and the way to address the epidemic is still a hoax of massive proportions and any from the CDC and the WHO who perpetuated that hoax should be held criminally accountable for it.

Whirls is absolutely right once again. Humorous zing aside, telling someone who is scrapping by something like "but the stock market is rising a bit today!", "we've added some jobs!", while we're in a recession no less, isn't going to make them feel better if they can't pay their bills and feed themselves properly.

as a currently jobless guy in a dying country, can confirm
people like me don't care about anything in such a situation, if I have food and housing, I'm happy as hell, if not, then I don't care about anything until I get my dinner lol

Translation: "Protesting things I don't like (like the 'orange man meanie'😉 is ok but it's not ok to protest things I agree with."-- Pootybot.

He's right that protests used to mean something. Just like words like "fascist" and "nazi" used to mean something, but they have now been cheapened due to being used inappropriately by people with agendas.
Yes, it's true that protests used to mean something long ago (like back during the civil rights era, for example) but crybaby leftists unfortunately have ruined it with constantly protesting for silly reasons. It's like they've almost made a profession out of it lol. Constant "Orange man bad! Orange Man bad! Orange Man bad!" because they don't like how an election turned-out.
I don't know about you, but personally, I think when a governor starts issuing orders like "You are not allowed to grow your own food" that is a damn good reason to protest. Far more so than protesting because the orange man said some "mean words" or some such similar silly shit.

Someone should tell Biden that the farm-banning-governor is actually one of his female staffers, put them in a room together, and let Biden do his thing.
