meanwhile, in reality, we're closing in on 275k u.s. deaths as the infection and death rate are both accelerating.
All that in the face of lockdowns across multiple states, the highest testing numbers of any country in the world, and among the highest mask-wearing and mask mandates of any country in the world.
It's as if these policies simply don't work.
Here's a list of countries, as November 30th, who are doing worse than the US:
Belgium
Peru
Spain
Italy
United Kingdom
Moldova
Argentina
North Macedonia
Mexico
Brazil
Chile
France is about to pass the US, too. Czechia, touted as being a country that responded very well to the virus, is quickly skyrocketing up the list along with Slovenia (also touted as handling the pandemic very well).
Here's a bit of reality, actual reality:
We are f*cked. All of us are f*cked. There's no amount of policies that any of the governments can enforce other than 100%, across the global, lockdowns where no know moves, for 30 days. Watch as tens of millions die at the end of that 30 day period.
So we should do like Japan and learn to live with it.
