Oxygen levels drop about 4% under a surgical mask. That's like...training at 5,000 feet above sea level. Consider it getting in better physical shape by increasing your hematocrit count. That's how I view it. It's placebo to wear anything but a valveless N95. We do it to pretend we are doing anything and being responsible.
Idk if that's a good generalization... The things we don't like about Nazis were atrocious... Concentration camps and human atrocities, etc...
Comparing THAT to wearing a mask(which sucks, admittedly) kinda seems dramatic, and weakens legitimate anti-masking concerns... It also serves to downplay exactly how bad the Nazi regime was...
Maybe call it puritanical or something? That might be a more accurate comparison-- they used to actually control what people wore.
