Sure they do, your own provincial governments mandate you wear a seat belt while driving.

I'm arguing that the Government does not have the moral right to regulate what people wear unless it presents a clear, and immediate harm to others.

You're just saying the Government has the legal right.

You're saying "moral" now, you didn't before. Anyhow.

It's a moral issue too regarding a pandemic and the threat to public safety. We're likely over 500K deaths now and counting, when this was supposed to be "just a little flu".

So the government doesnt have a moral obligation to enforce the wearing of seat belts ?

As I've said multiple times before, the Government does not have the right to tell people what to wear unless it prevents a clear, and immediate harm to others.

Sounds like you're just trying to circumvent the question instead of answering it.

A year of denial, poor management and lies over covid-19 will do that.

One good thing, it seems not wearing a mask is becoming less and less of a political stance.

It is a good thing no one here did anything like that. They would look awful foolish right about now.

I disagree.

The Government has no right to regulate what people wear unless the person in question is presenting a clear and immediate harm to others without proper attire.

In the U.S. it absolutely does.

So you're saying seat belt laws should be illegal?

I'm saying the Government should regulate seatbelts only if it presents a clear and immediate harm to others.

That doesn't answer my question. It's just a vague reply that can lead itself to multiple interpretations.

Yes/No seatbelt laws as they are in the U.S. should be illegal?

I'm not familiar enough with the science of seatbelt wearing to give you a definitive answer on your specific question.

Lol sure whatever. That might be one of the best circumventing replies I've seen. Realistically I think you just don't want to answer the question because of how it will make you look.

So you think you know enough about the science of mask wearing to say mandating them should be illegal?

I think that a person should be mandated to wear a mask if they know they have Covid.

So they're only a danger to spread the disease if they know they have Covid?

No.

But a person cannot be held liable morally if they don't know they have Covid.

I don't believe moral liability exists, not in any meaningful sense at any rate.

That seems strenuous at best as reason masks can't mandated as part of a pandemic.

That's like saying seat belt laws should only pertain to people who know they're going to crash the day they go driving.
