Oh, a Silicon Valley *****?

My arm recovered, thank God.

There was one day I could barely move it.

Going for my second dose as early as the 24th.

Best of luck 🤞

Weekly Pediatric COVID Cases Surpass 250K

The U.S. has now tallied more than 40-million Covid-19 cases across the pandemic, with more than 4-million of them reported in the last four weeks alone, according to data from Johns Hopkins University.

The count only represents officially reported positive test results, so the actual number of infections is much larger.

The jump in cases has translated into overcrowded hospitals, and a rise in infections among children—of particular concern, as many students return to their classrooms. Experts fear that a holiday weekend could make matters worse.

It is back-to-school week for many families in the United States just as coronavirus cases surge among children and teens. Weekly pediatric coronavirus cases surpassed 250,000 for the first time since the start of the pandemic, according to the most recent data published by the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Its data shows that more than a quarter of weekly reported coronavirus cases in the United States were among children for the week ending September 2nd.

And while most pediatric cases are not severe, nearly 2,400 children were hospitalized nationwide with COVID-19 in the seven days ending Tuesday, more than ever before.

Is it safe to assume that the majority of these cases are still happening in Red states that have taken active measures in banning mask mandates and other sensible precautions?

I would say it is a phenomenon in red districts. It is mostly in red states, but there are suburban and rural districts in blue states that can lean red, and it is happening there too. Which tells you that social conservativism is driving the problem.

That's the problem though. The majority of cases may have been isolated to those conservative areas but they will spread to other areas.

What I am hearing is that conservatism is a virulent disease.

howard stern letting the anti-vaxxers have it.

“It’s really funny when these radio, the radio guys are the best, they’re like four of them died, four of them were like ranting on the air. They will not get vaccinated. They were they were on fire, these guys, it was like day after day, they were all dying and then their dying words are ‘I wish I had been more into the vaccine. I wish I had taken it.'”

“When are we going to stop putting up with the idiots in this country and just say, you know, it’s mandatory to get vaccinated?”

"**** them, **** their freedom. I want my freedom to live. I want to get out of the house already. I want to go next door and play chess. I want to go take some pictures.”

Biden Did Not Come to Play with These Hoes

President Biden announced today that all employers with 100 or more employees must require vaccination or weekly COVID-19 testing.

The emergency temporary standard issued by the Labor Department covers 80-million private sector workers, and businesses that do not comply will face fines of $14,000 per violation.

Biden is also requiring vaccinations for over 17-million health care workers at Medicare and Medicaid participating hospitals and other health care settings—a significant expansion of an existing requirement for nursing homes.

The federal government will also require vaccinations for staff at Head Start and Early Head Start programs, teachers and staff at Department of Defense schools, and teachers and staff at schools operated by the Bureau of Indian Education.

Joe is on a Roll

The Transportation Security Administration is doubling fines for first-time offenders who fail to wear masks, effective tomorrow, and repeat offenders could face fines as high as $3,000.

The White House said President Joe Biden was directing the higher fines to "ensure that masking requirements remain in place on the other modes of transportation as we continue to battle COVID-19." The TSA said the new fines will"“be $500–1,000 for first offenders and $1,000–3,000 for second offenders."

Last month, the TSA extended requirements for travelers to wear masks on airplanes, trains, and buses; and at airports and train stations through January 18th to address ongoing COVID-19 risks. The regulations had been set to expire September 13th.

We all know why.
