It's Avatar is described as a stone faced being. So either they are referencing the mysterious all powerful true form Darkseid so often invoked, or Darkseid serves as the avatar of some other entity.

And Cates also has Galactus fleeing OK Thanos (who current Thanos matches).

And of course, this is before we get into Squadron Supreme/Great Society issues.
