Seen the first 5 episodes now and enjoying it. I was waiting for it to be a bit different from The Walking Dead and it is. Pretty well written so far.Kathleen was bad casting, though.
That's probably my biggest gripe so far.
How dare you. Melanie Lynskey is Jaden's favorite actress and a New Zealand national treasure.

Nothing against her. I've seen her in a few other things and she's fine. She just didn't fit the role. I think they went a little too far with the subverting of character expectations.

What fugly people in this movie, thank you #Metoo.
I mean, to be fair, I sometimes don't mind that because it makes it seem more like real life.
I watched The Hills Have Eyes 2 the other day and it was so goofy having the two female soldiers look like super models. You could possibly get away with one of them looking like a model, but not both.

Maybe tell that to the incel Rightist that complained about Bella Ramsey not being "hot and sexy" enough to play Ellie?
He's crazy. Ellie was always ugly. 👆
The show is next level ugly though, just like all post #metoo casting. If the producers could keep it in the pants the actors and actresses wouldn't range from very plain to morbidly obese and ugly.
No modern Jennifer Love Hewitt, that level of sex appeal is dead. Fat acceptance and masculine or androgynous is the norm now.
Hey at least the disgracefully fat and hideous audiences get to see people who look like them on TV! 👆
Wasn't just one person whinging about Ramsey not being not enough...
Anyhow, Pedro Pascal is considered to be a sex symbol, but you're obviously free to want a hotter main male actor for your viewing/wanking pleasures.
I thought he did a really good job with the role and his roughed up appearance fit well considering the post apocalypse setting.
Ah, shit.
The second to last episode. Episode 8 I think. That premise doesn't get any better. A
Spoiler:. Truly glorious.
cannibal cult with a violent preacher
But was it just me or was it really stupid of them to leave the cleaver easily within her reach, not once, but twice??
It worked okay the first time, but by the second time it was dumb.
I thought Joel should have seen the smoke from the fire and burst in to save her at the end. That would have made more sense.

So with the finale coming up, it's time to start considering which poor misguided fool will sign their life away to play Abby in season 2. Given how well liked that character is. At this point you might as well get Brie Larson because it's not like she can be hated as much as she already is. Abby may take the title of most despised character in TV history from Joffrey.
Word on the streets is the role of Abby has been cast and that the 2 names in the running are Florence Pugh and Shannon Berry.
Florence Pugh has got herself a bit on the chunky side recently. She'd have to smash the weight training and get on the trenbolonga sandwiches and capri-sun to nail the role.
