The Last of Us (HBO)

I just finished the 3rd episode of this. It's good and all so far, but there better be some damn lesbians in Season 2. Just sayin'.

Seen the first 5 episodes now and enjoying it. I was waiting for it to be a bit different from The Walking Dead and it is. Pretty well written so far.

Kathleen was bad casting, though.

That's probably my biggest gripe so far.

Nothing against her. I've seen her in a few other things and she's fine. She just didn't fit the role. I think they went a little too far with the subverting of character expectations.

I mean, to be fair, I sometimes don't mind that because it makes it seem more like real life.

I watched The Hills Have Eyes 2 the other day and it was so goofy having the two female soldiers look like super models. You could possibly get away with one of them looking like a model, but not both.

Rightist have been complaining about the Ellie character "not being hot and sexy enough", even though the character is supposed to be a 14yo and 14yo shouldn't be seen as "hot an sexy".

The show is next level ugly though, just like all post #metoo casting. If the producers could keep it in the pants the actors and actresses wouldn't range from very plain to morbidly obese and ugly.

No modern Jennifer Love Hewitt, that level of sex appeal is dead. Fat acceptance and masculine or androgynous is the norm now.

Anyhow, Pedro Pascal is considered to be a sex symbol, but you're obviously free to want a hotter main male actor for your viewing/wanking pleasures.

I thought he did a really good job with the role and his roughed up appearance fit well considering the post apocalypse setting.

But was it just me or was it really stupid of them to leave the cleaver easily within her reach, not once, but twice??

It worked okay the first time, but by the second time it was dumb.

I thought Joel should have seen the smoke from the fire and burst in to save her at the end. That would have made more sense.

Finished dis show.

Never thought I'd see the day when my wife would watch a zombie show. But she likes it. She was the one begging to watch it most nights.

Florence Pugh is so god damn lovely.

Saw her last in A Good Person (2023), she looked good in that, at least until her character tore herself up, but still would have banged.

I file her under the same heading of women who aren't conventionally hot but still have something about them that would get their front and back doors smashed in.

Oddly a lot of them begin with the letter A
