Mortal Kombat 2021

Another point I saw brought up is how Raiden is such a doormat in the movie, even more than he usually is. He can't fight directly with people (even though there's no tournament present that would prevent him from doing so) so he just zaps people away when the plot finds it necessary, but he could've utilized that power a lot better to help the heroes in multiple instances where Shang Tsung was blatantly cheating so it would have been morally fine to do so, but nah; better sit back and follow the broken rules that no one else seems to follow in the damn film.

In Annihilation he said he was shao khan's brother XD

Raiden's accent was funny As shit...

So, I watched this last night... Honestly, I'm disappointed. I was hoping for so much more than we got, and if they do make a sequel, I hope it's a much better movie. Better writing, better scoring, better fight editing. All of it needs work.

Mortal Kombat 1 or MK2021

The first mortal Kombat film wasn't a masterpiece but it was still decent. Video game movies in general are terrible but that one was probably one of the best.

I thought that was just on the provision that the movie did well enough. Or did it already do enough to greenlight the sequels?

The film's sales already surpassed its budget in two days, so think is safe to say we're getting a sequel.

From what I also looked up, apparently the next film will have the actual MK tournament, so the current film is basically a prequel, but that means all the bad guys except Shang Tsung got offed before the MK1 tournament even began... I suppose they could have Shang bring some of them back or something since he mentioned an army, but still, makes the first film kinda pointless.

There's still a plethora of MK villains to pick and choose from too, but for the first film to kill off those who were legitimate threats before the MK1 tournament? Doesn't make sense. If a big sub-boss had to be wasted while the OC discovers his power, would've preferred it have been Motaro or someone, not ****ing Goro. Now he'll have no impact even if he's brought back for the tournament, making Kintaro or someone seem like the better sub-boss option now. They're all over the place and shooting themselves in the foot before they get the ball rolling.

They are prob going to do Noob Saibot, thats most likely why they killed him off. Kuai Liang will take his place and try to get revenge. They did my boi liu kang and kung lao dirty tho 😒

Well yeah, that's to be expected with Bi-Han, as Joe Taslim was reportedly signed up for sequels. With how he nailed it as elder Sub-Zero, he'll do Noob Saibot great. Can even see him fighting multiple opponents with his shadow clone so that he doesn't get ganged up on again like he did with Scorpion and Cole in the climax of this film. lmao Regardless, seeing a Bi-Han that isn't just a jobber is hella refreshing.

More so Kung Lao... Shame too, as he had some of the coolest moments at first.

I was a bit annoyed at some of the decisions the producers made... Kung lao's son is gay? Shao khan won Armageddon?

Funny how these weird decisions keep getting made in various shows. It's almost like all the talented people either went onto other things or retired.

And now the marketing department is doing scripts, because all the script writers are even worse having been weaned off yaoi fan fic writing.

MK 1 because even though it's cheesy and of course by now dated, I still cared about the characters by the end of it and rooted for them.

In MK 2021, other than the intro I could care less about anyone in it and to top it off, no actual MK tournament(just setting up upcoming movies ABOUT the tourney was more important).

...Hell this movie needs to be renamed to "Kano and friends", he had more dialog than the actual lead character Cole. 😆

Like with the games now though, here it's like "Have either good writing or the fatalities!", since having both seems impossible. Oh, and

Movie was alright. Some odd decisions, and thought Goro got did dirty. Raiden also kinda sucked. A mediocre/bad movie with a few very cool moments.

Hopefully a sequel would be better. Had some promise.
