The infection rate spiked in Texas after the Republican Governor reopened the state in the beginning of May, i.e. well before the Black Lives Matter demonstrations in mid-June. Now hospitals have to send patients away, because there are no beds for them. How biblical.
Since we know that we were capturing anywhere from only 1/50th to 1/80th of all the cases, testing more will definitely result in capturing more cases.
Which is exactly what we see in Texas:

Amazing, isn't it?
Optimally, 1 or more out of 10 tests result in a positive. It means we are testing the correct people and we are handling contact tracing properly. We just aren't seeing that. We are painting with a very broad brush and testing anything that has a pulse.
So what does the trending analysis look like for Texas? Are deaths going up or down?
Cases are still going up but deaths are trending down even faster since the list time I looked at the raw data:
Amazing what the facts look like without the noise of the MSM polluting the conversation.

So you're saying the spike started happening before the protests, which would mean all the democrat leaders encouraging people to come out in large groups knew what they were doing. Why do you think they want everyone to get sick?
Actually, if you look at the data, there is actually a dip in positive cases when the protests first started happening.
It should be obvious why:
1. People were out protesting, not getting tested.
2. People were afraid to go out due to the protesting.
When things calmed down a bit, people started getting tested again and we saw a significant spike. that was just piling on some of the missing days. But the spike is so small that it simply cannot be explained by the missing days.
Why not?
Because getting people out of the house, outside, actually causes infections to go down. 😐

Why is coronavirus still surging in the US? – video explainer
"You can always count on Americans to do the right thing -- after they've tried everything else."
-- Winston Churchill.
With states like NY aside -- we went from being the epicenter of The World, to getting the virus systematically under control -- the overall American response to CV19 is a shame. It brings whole new meaning to the phrase, American exceptionalism -- exceptionally selfish, impatient, and in denial, with the blame falling on young people ("It won't effect me, and I have to have my fun!"; on Trump cultists who've made wearing a mask a political statement ("You can't tell me what to do!" [ie, be socially responsible]); and the Malevolent Moron who refuses to set the example (duh), and instead wants packed rallies where you Do have to sign a waiver so you can't sue him for getting sick [*facepalm*].
