Top 5 Red lightsaber wielders

I think we’ve all seen the list by now:

1. Vader
2. Sidious
3. Maul
4. Dooku
5. Ventress

How reliable is this source? Is it canon? I think it actually makes sense for Vader being #1 above Sidious, considering Sidious despised lightsaber combat (only using it when necessary) and the fact that he lost to Windu and was disarmed by Yoda. Honestly placing Dooku below Maul is more ridiculous to me

Yoda didnt disarm Sidious. 😉

The list is definitely canon. Matt Martin acknowledged it.

But there's more that goes into battles then just saber skill. Even if Maul was a better duelist, Dooku would obviously smoke him in an actual fight. Same with Vader vs. Sidious.

No one batting an eye over Ventress being placed above Kylo Ren.

Shes just lucky General Krells Sabers hadnt bled red yet.

Kylo never displayed saber skills above Ventress level IMO.

Yes he was. That Guide was one of the run ups to TFA.

The guide was released in 2016, shortly after TFA. In fact, Kylo was featured on the same splash page as the top 5 list:

The list was made after TFA, when his only feat was losing to Rey so not really a surprise

It might have even been made before, but was updated after. Still before TLJ and ROS

Not because he's displayed immense skill in the films/comics, but because of some of the wank he's gotten on SW.com and the VDs. Clearly they have a very high opinion of Kylo's abilities.

...Not that it's entirely undeserved. By all accounts, Kylo *should* be a high-end swordsman, given that he was trained by Luke(whose skill was already equal to Vader's as of RotJ) for over a decade, and possesses Skywalker-level potential.
