I'm keeping an open mind but I don't think power cosmic at least the amount the surfer has is able to withstand the big bang. There is nothing in the comic suggesting he was in any danger as long as he got to the ship.

With that said, it was never shown or stated that he took a hit from it. The ship is faster than light, can outrace universal decay, who's to say they could outrace an explosion?
After the big bang the ship ended up inside the new universe and that's how the ships crew fire from the residual radiation and no structural damage to the ship from the big bang.
