Honestly, I can't say that I trust any of the politicians running to not be terrible people right now.

If the first black president and the vast majority of black Democratic voters do not think he is racist, then I do not know why all of the white conservatives in this thread are pretending to care.

I don't think Biden is racist. His verbiage raises eyebrows today, but he gets a pass because of his age and political affiliation. I really don't think he can change his old school mentality to meet the social climate of the younger generation.

is that really a fallacy when it applies to an election? seems more like directly relevant data to me. but I suppose I could be wrong, like if trump goes full dictator and suspends/ends democracy. he's already attacking the first amendment, so it's certainly possible

Calling this an argumentum ad populum would be to misunderstand what constitutes a film. When it comes to movies, it really is the general opinion of the movie, and not the opinon of the few.

In argumentation theory, an argumentum ad populum is a fallacious argument that concludes that a proposition must be true because many or most people believe it, often concisely encapsulated as: "If many believe so, it is so".

the point was raised that vast majority black voters are still going to vote for biden, so the quibbling and attempted convincing from the right is pointless. this is not a fallacious argument.

if someone had said something like "joe biden is not racist because the vast majority of black voters will vote for him", that would be definitely appropriate usage of the term.

if you're going to strategically quote logical fallacies at others, you should do it correctly

Trump would only be like a 2, at worst, imo. Biden is probably like a 4 or 5. Here are some other people of note and how I'd rank them on the racist scale:

Ilhan Omar: 8 (at least)

AOC: 7

Hillary Clinton: 7 (at least)

Barrack Obama: 3

Other "squad" member (forgot her name): 7

Mike Pence: 2 (at worst)

Alex Jones: 2

Louis Farrakhan: 10

David Duke (or any other KKK member or former member: 10

Margaret Sanger (if she were still alive): 8

Any member of the so-called "Black Hebrew Israelites": 10
