To be fair now, plenty of bulletproof characters got hurt in similar ways. It's not exactly uncommon.

I believe Mungi is still right about Wrecker being more consistent when it comes to resisting piercing attacks than Thor.

Pshh. Dont lump him in with Diana. Ive never seen a high tier brick more susceptible to bullets than her. Didnt a ricochet almost kill her... Like for real kill her?

Yeah there was an off panel scene of how Wrecker became resitant to piercing damage in prison. Too many bars of soap slipped from his grasp. True story.
