Oh yeah, I commented on this story when it broke, originally. I was legit buttmad.

The police royally fudged up in this scenario.

It's such an easy way to NOT eff up. But they couldn't help but shove a frail old man.

What are the engagement protocols for this situation? Shoving an old due onto the ground is likely not the correct engagement tactic.

Real talk for a bit:

As for Gugino, he has a long history as an activist and a peaceful protester. According to a report by USA Today, Gugino worked with Witness Against Torture — an organization dedicated to closing Guantanamo Bay — among other human rights campaigns. Friends told the outlet that Gugino was thoughtful and pacifistic, and did not deserve his treatment at the hands of the police.

This Gugino guy seems exactly the type of person I admire and his political positions are positions that I agree with.

If you remember, I was buttmad (to extreme levels) when Obama didn't close Gitmo like he f*cking promised to do. Torture is wrong and ineffective. Gitmo is a travesty of fail.

Gugino walks the walk that I'm too comfortable to walk. He's literally standing up for the causes that I believe in but I'm too much of a cowardly b*tch to go out and do anything about because I love my gyms, video games, books, traveling to eat food in far away lands, technology and gadgets, and internet.

Gugino is a legit stand-up guy that got pushed down by some cowards who hid behind riot gear, guns, and badges.
