NYPD Officers Are Retiring In Droves Over Leadership’s Handling Of Riots, Officials SayAwful.
How terrible that they are going to sit on one of the fattest retirement plans of any police force in the world because stupid leaders are doing stupid things and those police are throwing tantrums?
And then those police will work private security making more money while lapping up those fat retirements.
I'm envious, actually. That's a smart move.

Real talk for a bit:This Gugino guy seems exactly the type of person I admire and his political positions are positions that I agree with.
If you remember, I was buttmad (to extreme levels) when Obama didn't close Gitmo like he f*cking promised to do. Torture is wrong and ineffective. Gitmo is a travesty of fail.
Gugino walks the walk that I'm too comfortable to walk. He's literally standing up for the causes that I believe in but I'm too much of a cowardly b*tch to go out and do anything about because I love my gyms, video games, books, traveling to eat food in far away lands, technology and gadgets, and internet.
Gugino is a legit stand-up guy that got pushed down by some cowards who hid behind riot gear, guns, and badges.
I agree he shouldn't have been shoved, but I've watched the video multiple times. The cops appear to be telling people to back up. Yet he walks forward and seems to grab at the cops 2-3 times and then is violently shoved down.
I have to agree with those who have said he was trying to provoke a response. I have no other explanation for why he'd keep walking forward and continually try to grab at these cops.
And yes the cops are cowardly. They didn't need to violently shove him and if he was trying to provoke them they shouldn't have given in.

I'm with the police-apologists on one point of this discussion: he was barely pushed. Barely touched at all. But he's old, thin, and clearly frail. So he had no balance or strength to prevent himself from falling back. If it was someone like me or anyone who isn't old and frail, we'd barely move with that tap.

He's far to old and frail to confront the tyrannical, evil, and wrong police. Perhaps he expected to be a martyr?
Keep in mind I am a patriot who loves freedom, the constitution, etc. It also means I do not like unfair, large, and tyrannical governments. It should be obvious I do not support either a nanny-state or police-state. I do not support militaristic police.

Like I said I'm just glad we all agree the guy was trying to provoke a response 🙂
So he deserved what happened to him? In all likelihood, he is trying to get a response but I don't think it's unreasonable to expect better from the police than you would from a random pensioner.

He did not deserve it, but he did try to provoke a response.
Just because he tried to provoke one doesn't mean the cops needed to give him one.
