No it not for the police at all. Did they police clean the statues ? No ex and serving soldiers did. Did the police protect any of the memorials or statues ? No they didn’t , so why the hell should you think they’d manage to protect it this time when the can’t even control protesters. Yeah being against muslims as a people isnt much different to being a racist.

He was a member of the BNP before starting the EDL. BNP tried the whole anti-muslim schtick as well but they were already too well known for being an extreme hate breeding, division forming group.
