Msrtha's Vineyard is rich, and barely diverse compared to someplace like New York City. It also happens to be the only place that sent the national guard after migrants.

Depends on whether and what they were told about where they were being taken and whether they agreed.
I'd be concerned if they keep doing it in winter where they'd essentially stranding people in places they may be entirely unequipped to survive in. I'm not sure someone from Mexico or even further south would survive for very long being dumped in the street in Chicago in January for example.

That's part of whet Gavin Newsom has requested the DOJ look into. That false pretense could fall under kidnapping and moving said kidnapped people across state lines, which is an additional crime. Then all the extra charges when a child/minor is involved.
REALLY hope Desantis and Abbott are brought up on charges, I want to see "child kidnapping and transportion across states lines" headlines. The Martha's Vineyard deplorable move alone could be 50+ separate criminal charges if the DOJ does what is right.

Martha's Vineyard is a "rich people's island" in so far as many rich people own summer homes there. But after Labor Day, those rich people are no longer there. Most of the people who actually live there are poor and working class. They provide support services to the rich during the summer, and struggle the rest of the year. So this is not Republican governors dumping migrants on the front lawns of mansions. It is dumping migrants in the laps of other poor and working class people who are not much better off than them. I love the fact that the Republicans are sooo proud that they are pwning the libs, but in reality, they are being shown up. The libs are taking care of those people. Here in Chicago, we've put them up in hotels and are finding them jobs. If anything, fine, send them here. They are desperate people who need help, and I think the difference between Republicans and Democrats has never been more stark in the way we are treating them. Do unto others as they would do unto you, and "I was a stranger and you clothed me" indeed. Republicans are proving they don't practice what they preach and it's making me very proud to be part of a group that IS taking care of people.
