I think career politicians should all be banned from political office regardless of age. You have to have worked first and that doesn't mean inheriting a company from Daddy. Starmer is a good example, he was a top Lawyer before becoming a politician, although I could make a good argument against Lawyers in politics.

I also think age is a silly argument because younger people can be just as irresponsible and corrupt as older people. Sometimes even more so because of lobbying and naiveté. Lobbying is probably the biggest problem with American politics. Not only that, what makes the U.K. different is political adverts of a candidate's campaign are illegal to be advertised on the television. It's not like America where the Bush campaign broadcast a load of ads against McCain's children or Kerry's time in the military.

Just learned about a punk who raped a 13 year old girl in a park when he was 17, the judge decides on leniency. 270 hours community service or something.
That was in the UK, which is doubly surprising given they tend towards punitive measures against generalized anti-social behavior, let alone RAPE.

The one thing I HATE is the fact in the US (No idea if true elsewhere) Attorney/Client privilege applies to all past crimes, but not planned crimes yet to be carried out.
What this means is if a psycho murdered your kids and told his attorney where they are burried, the attorney is bound to silence.
That drives me crazy, it is such a ridiculously corrupt law. God forbid you scare off leg breakers and hitmen from your legal services.

That sounds good, until you start to question why with all these donations the costs of health care is still ridiculous here in the US.
Then you realize all the donations are really covering is research and development costs, meaning the hospitals con other people into paying for their business expenses, while making maximum profits from what they learn.
Not so good in that light.
