Word of advice, if you ever meet a guy with a knife RUN. Don't try and fight him, that's just dumb.
If you can't run you try and get CLOSE, like literally up against him, try and do whatever you have to to stop that knife arm (Like pinning him up against a wall), at mid range you're ****ed because he can just keep stabbing.

Looking at the video, it seems like the victim started it. You can see them just standing there until the bigger guy slaps him.
Obviously I don't need to say you never, ever try and starrt something, aside from the fact you never know who has a knife or a gun, it just isn't worth it. I'd rather swallow my pride and eat an insult then visit a hospital or worse.
Of course it depends on the context. Here in CT a guy was shot because he yelled at someone who was leaning on his car, no real way you can avoid a psycho like that, just gotta hope you never meet one.
