People are idiots.
Barricades cost money. Barricades along miles upon miles of roads cost a lot of money.
Police cost money. Police along miles upon miles of roads cost a lot of money.
"Supply line shortage" is probaby code for "Human trafficking".
We're years past the worst of the pandemic and still experiencing shortages on stuff. I bet human traffickers had a far easier time moving people pre pandemic then they do now post pandemic, because everything changed and shipping human slaves and putting them to work simply isn't possible anymore. Everyone needs vaccine papers now, travel restrictions are far too strict, the net has been tightened letting little slip through.
That means the labor market lost hard working trafficked people who are literally working to save their lives, and now the jobs get filled by normal workers who don't get paid enough to give a shite and just want to get paid and go home.
