If I were you, Rob, I'd get my family out of harm's way and move out into the Cascade wilderness and live in a hidden bunker before the purges begin. You're a silicon valley softy. Leave the fight for America's soul to the big toughy tough guys from the mean streets of toughguyland like Bash.
He's a White male, so at least Black people, Muslims and immigrants won't be made into monoliths and then demonized by Fox News and similar. We're saved that rhetoric.
I'd expect "the deep state did this and Biden is part of the deep state" nonsense to grow though.
Interestingly enough, Nikki Haley has now been invited to speak at the RNC, after being previously rejected. Wonder if she's now being considered for the VP spot. Would be Trump's smartest move politically, but I don't think he wants a female VP.
Biden has been on point, calling for unity. It's going to be an odd thing, since unity against prejudicial hatred and surprise-ar-15 gun violence is completely anti-maga. I think trump will have no choice but to stay on brand and accuse Biden of trying to whack him.
Meanwhile he's literally been trying to incite surprise-violence against all his political enemies, the whole time
Biden has, he doesn't want another unhinged Republican shooting people, in retaliation for an unhinged Republican trying to kill Trump and murdering some poor bastard in the stands instead.
I can't see Trump being humbled by this and doing some "we can disagree, but we're all Americans" or similar. At least not for long. I'd expect him playing out to be the biggest victim in the world and sowing more political discord sooner than later.
Yup, said it yesterday, the one obvious thing all news agencies are scared to say, not that Trump deserved to be shot at, but Trump has now been the target of the 8+ years of political violence he's consistently sowed. We've all seen him say it and his supporters defended it.
