Pets are so difficult to lose because really looking after them does trigger parental instinct. People who say otherwise are factually pieces of shit who I trust about as far as I can throw a grand piano. It doesn't mean I don't cringe when "mommies" and "daddies" go on about their "babies", but I won't pretend that it's completely inappropriate terminology

Incorrect. I just think if you're going to have a pet, have a proper pet. Like a dog. Preferably a rottweiler, German Shepherd or a doberman. I've got nothing against cats, one or two cats is fine. But ferrets are just weird. It's like having a Guinea pig.
It's actually nothing like having a guinea pig or any other type of rodent.
Dogs are terrific for people with malignant mental illness, because most will continue to slink and whimper and kiss you ass while being abused, never realizing their own power to end that shit real quick. I prefer animals who's trust must be earned, and dogs are bred to have stockholm syndrome.
The saddest thing is fake tough guys with their penis compensation dogs (pitbulls especially), getting off on the feeling of making the general public nervous about getting attacked by their poorly trained and neglected shitbeast. BIG men still addicted to that power rush that a little boy gets while chasing after terrified little girls with a frog.
I grew up with a couple of German shepherds, they were the best dogs I ever had, that's why I am fond of that particular breed. Rottweilers are great for protection, and Dobermans are just beautiful animals. Plus they're good for protection lol. But yeah I feel you on the whole Pitbull thing. One thing I can't stand our small dogs. Pomeranians, shih tzus, those type of dogs. They don't bark they just go YIP YIP YIP.
Little dogs can be evil and annoying, especially an overly coddled chihuahua. Shitzu though? Apart from their uniquely annoying bark and stunted intelligence, most of them are sweethearts. My favorite is a lab, and coloring doesn't matter. Retrievers tend to be too much though with all the aggressive loving...too needy.
But yeah pit bulls should be banned as pets. Same for other dogs that were bred specifically for violence. People should at least require training and a permit to own them
My parents had three dachshunds at one time and I loathe those goddamn things. You so much as cut a loud fart and they yap yap yap for an hour.
I owned an American Pitt Bull Terrier named Walter and he was an absolute angel. Pits get such an unfair stereotype from the media. Yes, Pits attack but so do other dog breeds only they’re not spotlighted and hyped. Pits are true sweetheart dogs.
My contention is it’s how the animal is raised and reared. It’s the fault of the owner. That’s just me.
Chichuahuas and then chihuahua small mixes bite more people each year than all other dogs, but no one gives a shit because the damage they cause is minimal at best.
Pitbull bites tend to do more damage then other dogs due to their breeding/muscle density. As noted above, the added issue of pits attracting douchebag owners who don't train them or encourage the aggressive behavior.
I've known normal people who have pits and the dogs are docile and sweet as can be. Some still end up attacking though, genetics are genetics. Though any dog can bite if pushed or made to feel threatened.
eh we're just gonna have to go ahead and disagree, imp. plenty of videos on youtube of tigers and panthers being affectionate with humans, meowing and purring at people, getting boops on their noses and loving it. it proves nothing. tigers are deep thinking loving creatures as well as cold killing machines. same as pibbles, which were specifically bred for bull baiting.
