"communism" would be incorrect because it requires currency for salaries and spending.

"a political theory derived from Karl Marx, advocating class war and leading to a society in which all property is publicly owned and each person works and is paid according to their abilities and needs."

socialism is defined as: "a political and economic theory of social organization which advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole."

no mention of currency or salaries.

Neat, I did not mention socialism tho just communism.

Can you explain why the mention of communism made you bring up socialism 🙂

I didn't accuse anyone here of supporting it, but it is intriguing you felt me saying that was an accusation.

I do know certain sad souls have tried to defend the "star trek is communism" claim.

I bring that up because it shows a gross misunderstanding of communism and can perhaps explain why so many dipshits in the US kinda eye f*ck it

Like of course you'd be in favor of it if you're stupid enough to think star trek is communist, right?

i was making the point that they were only technically wrong 🙂

also what if they did turn communist...i forget, did discovery or "picard" have federation currency?

So factually wrong but not morally wrong?

Lol

The Federation does not have currency for within, but they do keep currency/precious goods to use with civilizations who do. But it's more of a barter system.

it was not disproven either. i only have proof that tng had socialist structure.

The federation also is not communist 🙂

The Metroid games are some of my favorite games.

I got every Metroid game on the GBA, and I had all 3 Primes, with #3 being my favorite.

I'm eagerly awaiting Metroid Prime 4.

The delay is killing me.

They were great.

I love the ability to make you two dance. Even a fact like star trek isn't communist you'll try to argue against 😆

Also your discourse of Star Trek federation reminds me of why I hate the Federal party who only elected one president, John Adams. Great job, guys /s.

you're just conditioned to bark at words, but you were obviously absent for your anti-socialism barking lesson. didn't your peers tell you that socialism is the gateway-drug to chairman mao?

they could have at one point had a communist structure before deciding to abandon currency, but if so they probably called it something else to fool the gullible (if so, of course it worked).

Wise choice not arguing they were communists

Does siskos dad just run a restaurant for fun?

I made no mention of a political party in my post, I clearly was referring to the money issue. Did Bash upset you into full-blown retardation today?

But sure, they have some Communist-like aspects. Now freak out some more.

Are we talking Star Trek?

I think they do have a credit system. Or at least, Sulu made mention of spending "all that hazard pay" in one of the books.

Sulu is a bad driver. Star Trek is racist towards East Asians..
