I owned a Kindle Fire HD and an Ipad Mini 2.
My phones have almost all been Android, from Samsung to my current LG Thinq 8.
For my purposes (Those purposes being comic, manga, and app piracy), they both have strengths and weaknesses. I prefer the Ipad's zoom function, where you use three fingers to tap and zoom in on a page. Beats pinching for zoom, because it doesn't steady the page from moving left and right.
Apple also has a nifty feature exclusive to it where you can download an app to create a "fake" proxy server, and it somehow keeps ads from functioning inside other apps, as well as on pages (It is not perfect though).
Android on the other hand lets you sideload stuff easier. Just load it up like its a thumb drive and you're good to go. Can't do that with Apple, you need to jump through a lot of hoops to get stuff on and off the device, and access it.
Other pros and cons:
Apple battery life degrades MUCH faster with age. Apple was found out to throttle their devices resulting in severe shortages of functionality and battery life, so I think they intentionally force obsolescence, to encourage sales of new devices. This is why I've had my Ipad stuck on IOS 10 and refuse to upgrade.
Android otoh seems MUCH worse in terms of data hackers and spam shite. Everyone I know with Android devices gets like 5 or 6 spam messages a day, I had to hook them up with blocking software.
Love Stephen Kings The Stand. Hated Dark Tower for what it did to Randall Flag.
Been thinking about The Stand lately, and think Nick Andros was kind of an *******. He essentially banned a girl from humanity for being annoying, at a time when the human race needed every body it can get (Not to mention the dangers to people on their own)
And he had no real reason to block Harold Lauder from the committee. Sure, we the readers knew Harold was compromised, but as far as the community knew he was a valuble asset who distinguished himself with service. And really, Nick and his buddies had no real claim to governance, they were self elected.
I was glad when Nick got blown up.

Both of my families came from farmers, and one was second generation. Sometimes they'd tell me things I kind of wish they didn't.
Like what happened to seasonal migrant workers.
I still hope it's just a rumor and no one actually did those things they claim (Essentially, they massacred them and buried the bodies with a bulldozer)

And those cheap 50 dollar Samsung phones last FOREVER.
My sisters hand-me-down Iphone 5 had like 30 minutes of battery juice, while the budget Samsung lasted days on a single charge.
