Yeah, that film was attacked and co-opted by many over a multitude of wrong reasons, from some Left people claiming it was trying to push validations of 'white male resentment', to the Right claiming the film was made for them and was sympathetic to their beliefs, The director had to come out and say that's not what the film is about at all, that it's not political commentary.
Arthur Fleck is not a sympathetic character. Attacking him or boosting him as such is wrong either way.
