Ron Jeremy: adult film star charged with rape

Fair point. Many of these actors tend to develop more unusually flavors the farther they go into this type of work (not all). That type of lifestyle is something I personally abhor; shameless and crude acts performed for a very base instinct pander to a very selfish element. Pornography has its purposes, but it can be overly intoxicating for a select few, resulting in a lower quality of life.

A weirdly high number of porn stars kill themselves. Youd think doing that for a living...

I like porn, always have.

Porn serves a purpose, but it’s a vice like alcohol or gambling.

I like alcohol too, not a gambler these days. The house always wins.

You caught me, I'm a shower not a grower I start around 7.5 and go just over 9. But if you want a picture of it in tight purple Trousers Adam... I'm not doing that to prove my penile length 😉

Pics or it isn't true. 😄

😂 The picture I would like to post in reply would get me banned and although I would be laughing for weeks afterwards my hypocrisy would know no bounds... hang on it does already. 😄

in his line of work, it must be easy to lose reality.

I think it is more of a case that male performers are reduced to their penis size, and nothing else. So much so, that so long as one is well-endowed, can acheive and maintain an erection, and can climax on command, it does not really matter what he looks like.

For all of the talk of how pornography objectifyies women, men are arguably objectified more. They are reduced to a single body part, they get paid less, they do not get to choose with whom they perform, and few become actual stars.

Since few men meet those qualifictions, and even fewer are willing to perform for the limited reward, those who do and are tend to have longer careers than their female counterparts. But outside of that, it is truly a women's world.

I don't disagree, but, what are your thoughts on this Adam?

I read somewhere and how true the figure is who knows the average life expectancy for a female popstar is 38. It was when WWE star and porn star China topped herself I think.

I don't think vice applies here. Just feels like a remnant of the shame we have over sexuality in society. Addiction is a thing, although I'd argue that is its own thing. I don't think it's porn specific.

I haven't seen that, but you also to remember the context. Society, in general, stigmatizes sex workers pretty harshly. We've seen increased suicide rates from other marginalized groups, and know that social ostracization contributes to it. I'd imagine it's similar with sex workers of all types.

Interesting. I remember that guy. His scenes were always boring to me.

With that said, hopefully he'll get a fair trial and not be found guilty just because "believe all women!!" nonsense and the fact that he used to be a porn star. No doubt his former career will be used against him in the trial, unfortunately, though it certainly shouldn't be.

If I were the judge I wouldn't allow that to be brought up as it is irrelevant to the charges against him; it'll do nothing but poison the minds of those on the jury.

I agree in that addiction is not porn specific, however it would be a misnomer to claim that sex and addiction can’t be mutually exclusive. Many individuals spend needless funds on sexual acts to the point of debt.

I’m not arguing against the merits of sex work, by no means - merely commentating that certain individuals are unhealthily addicted to porn (not all).

it might be stigmatisation mate, possibly they are looking for validation which they don't find.i haven't read any research on this.

RJ was well know in the industry for having really poor hygiene.

I once watched RJ get an aids test. Does anyone remember that?

I think porn stars (male and female and everything in between lol) have to get tested for STD's every few weeks or so.

The fact that it's easily accessible only worsens that quality of light. Internet porn is the main source and many relationships have been destroyed just by a look of someone's browser history

I think the pornography industry attracts miserable, broken people seeking fast money and validation, so it should not be surprising.
