Oxygen Destroyer didn't kill Godzilla though, just weakened him enough he had to go heal/recharge in his radiation layer for who knows how long (or did it say?).
Speaking of, are we to assume Godzilla's man-cave was destroyed? Edit: Though I guess it's a moot point, as I'm sure he could find another cave deep down with similar levels of radiation.

To be fair, this isn't those Godzilla's. Just like the Matthew Broderick Godzilla was different. Big G has a variety of versions and his power levels creep up and down.
Same seems to go for Kong. But Kong is growing cuz of radiation so he could become big enough to challenge Godzilla theoretically. Who knows, maybe his atomic breath will backfire and just empower Kong.

Godzilla fought the Male and Female MUTO's at the same time and beat them both. He also fought Ghidorah(who's heads also double as arms/hands as at one point both heads bit his arms so the middle head could blast him.
Kong has only ever fought Skullcrawlers. We know this because when Ghidorah sent out the call to summon all the monsters, Kong ignored it, meaning he hasn't left Skull Island until now and no monster ever went to Skull Island so he's fought absolutely no one. Because aside from Kong and Godzilla, all the other Titans were dormant until Ghidorah woke them up.
As for the atomic breath thing, if it amped Kong, he wouldn't be using the axe to block the beams. Also he's covered in fur. I don't care if he is getting amped because of the radiation, we've already seen that he is highly flammable and if napalm can light him up, then atomic flames hot enough to melt anything will do the same if not more. If they don't, it's an issue.

If a version of Kong came out and beat this Godzilla, now THAT would be impressive.
Current movie Godzilla is good, but he's not Final Wars good, imo.
Still way better then the Godzilla from the classic Kong vs Godzilla movie though.
