I'm wondering...could the argument be made that the inconsistencies with DBZ/S strength showings...have to do with whether the character is powered up or not? All evidence seems to point to a skyrocketing of strength along with all other stats when powering/powered up. So maybe in examples of Goku only lifting 40 tons, that was him not powered up. Or even the gravity training room. Is that goku and vegeta in a raw form so they might attain nearly incalculable strength when they power up? Just thinking outloud...

That 40 ton feat is a wild outlier tbh, kid Goku and tao had strength feats close to that level. Although I heard somewhere that the reason Goku struggled at that point was because he was only focusing on staying afloat with his ki or something

That's not what happened. Galactus was ****ed when the celestials combined, Sol's anvil was the last resort and Franklin was outright more powerful than Sol's anvil as stated.
Also the most which happened in the entire fight was that the star of Kree homeworld altered its orbit. Beerus and Goku were about to destroy the entire universe. That's above anything Mad Celestials or Galactus did.
