At what location did the Big Bang originate? Inside the ship or outside? If outside then Surfer didn't experience anything since he was on the ship. Which makes since because of the below reasoning.
Nothing can exist outside the Big Bang (as explained in the panel). So Surfer getting hit with a Big Bang contradicts the fact that he can’t exist outside the Big Bang. Therefore the Big Bang happened outside the ship.

You cant really go beyond what was shown on panel. The writer/artist did not add enuff to the scene. Its literally just a spaceship and Surfer at the origin of a big bang, plain and simple.

I was speaking of the first scan where she is alive.
Someone mentioned that the first scan is questionable due to them travelling through time, but I don't see why. Since they are traveling backward, they therefore encounter a reverse big bang whereas all matter and energy basically collapse into them at beyond light speed. That's even more impressive.
